Ashton is the go-to guy here at the shop. His passion is anything bike related. These include custom frame building and riding single track with his dog Myka. Ashton eats, sleeps, and breathes bicycles. He is a United Bicycle Institute graduate and was the youngest person to ever attend Specialized Bicycle Components University. From wheel building to bike fitting, Ashton would love to help you get riding.
Mike is our longest tenured employee (hint: he’s the owner!). He started March 1, 1976, and has worked here everyday since. Mike enjoys riding with his family and constantly improving the experience here at the shop. Mike’s life verse is Colossians 3:23.
Anna is one of our most disciplined mechanics. She loves that feeling that comes from finishing a complete overhaul and restoring a bike to pristine condition. Anna likes to ride any kind of bike and she loves her cat. She’s currently riding a Lemond Zurich, a Specialized Diverge, and an All City Electric Queen (she’s a self admitted addict). When she isn’t here, Anna is usually busy working at Penrose Brewing Company in Geneva as their quality control wizard. Her go-to beer is usually a pale ale or an IPA. She likes beer gifts.
Once a customer, now part of the crew. Becca leads our mountain bike rides and can teach you all the tips to become a successful shredder. She rides her Salsa Woodsmoke, Specialized Stumpjumper, and Salsa Vaya. When she’s not at the shop, you can find her attempting to prevent epic battles between her daughter Ingrid and puppy Finch.
Austin loves bikes and music. He is the worship leader and youth pastor at MorningStar Community Church in Aurora as well as one of our mechanics. Here at the shop, he most enjoys overhauling hubs and drinking coffee. He rides a custom fully-rigid steel-frame mountain bike as well as a Specialized Sequoia. Steel is real. In his downtime, he loves spending time with his wife Lee Ann and daughter Elodie.
Pete came to us in early 2014 with a couple years of experience working in the industry, and a lifetime of being raised in a bike shop. When he’s not working here or riding one of his bikes, Pete spends his time teaching 5th grade in West Aurora.
As a new student at NIU, most of Becca’s days are spent in class or studying. When shes not working hard on her degree or at the shop, you can find her hanging with her nieces and nephews, usually while drinking some fresh roasted coffee.
Our mechanic in training, Max, is always willing to help out with whatever needs to be done around the shop. He is a senior in high school and is preparing to go to college for mechanical engineering. He may be a man of few words but he’s always eager learn more about fixing bikes. Outside of bicycles, Max’s favorite activity is snowboarding and he doesn’t like candy unless it’s Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.
Myka is the friendliest shop dog you’ll ever meet. She’s a hard worker, too. She’s here open until close almost every single day. She LOVES mountain biking and playing fetch. Stop by and play!
